Giants WIN THE NICKELBOWL!

The New York Giants faced Skipwondah and the Pittsburgh Steelers in their third Nickelbowl rematch. Both previous games going to overtime in close games.
Would this one stack up to those epic battles????
The Giants had one plan and one plan only. Pound the rock and limit turnovers. Force the Steelers to put together an offense other than Bell.
Let's see how the plan played out:
Both teams are notorious for playing each other very conservative. Pound the rock limit throws because of the user abilities on both sides of the sticks.
The Steelers are built for this. Strong O-line and best RB in the game. Not to mention one of the best rated defenses. The offense is #1 overall. Wow... on paper this looks like a mismatch. The 71 rated Giants do have some weapons but their strength is the passing game. ODB, Cruz and secret weapon Will Tye had a nice day against the Patriots to get to the championship so is it a smart move to go away from the strength of this team?

It did: Rashad would rumble score the only TD of the game and keep the chains moving to help the Giants secure 19 points.

The defense would keep Bell contend as well as getting to Big Ben and holding the Steelers to just FG's.

In the end the run game of the Giants was too much for the Steelers and the Giants defense played well enough to keep the #1 offense to just 9 points.

Great Game Skip
Congrats on a Good Season.

GMen Dominate Patriots... Brady who???

The New York Giants hosted the New England Patriots in the All-Star Conference Finals. This would be the first time these two teams would face off. The Giants being a 71 and a huge underdog to the 94 rated Patriots knew one thing. Score first and hit Brady and they will have a chance.

Well they scored first and they hit Brady so hard he was last seen crying on Gisele's shoulder.

The Giants would move the ball easily through the air with Eli having a perfect QB rating and Beckham showing off with 3 TD's. Will Tye would win the TE battle. Yes Will Tye > Gronk!

The Giants defense would drop some interception opportunities but the pass rush would get 6 sacks on Brady forcing punts and helping the GMen pull away in the 2nd half.

Jennings would have a good day as well almost going over 100 and scoring 3 TD's.

Very dominant effort hopefully this carries over to another lop sided matchup with the highly rated Steelers.

Players of the Game:

Eli Manning

He picked a part the Patriots going 13-16 278 Yards 3 TD's no Picks

Odell Beckham Jr.

4 catches 100 yards 3 TD's (He ODB'd)

Robert Ayers Jr.

He Justin Tuck'd it tonight. 3.5 sacks

Giants chop down Chiefs, Advance to AS Finals

The New York Giants hosted Coach JFam and the Kansas City Chiefs.

This was the 3rd time these two teams matched up this season. It's been said it's very hard to beat a team 3 times in one season. Well the Giants looked to make the difficult happen.

They did....

The Giants would drive to get within FG range but miss it by about 30 yards to the left on their first drive.

Thankfully Alex Smith would give it right back to them when Wade made a nice read to grab the User Pick to set them up with good field position. Eli would connect with Tye and Jennings would do the rest to get the 1st score of the game.

The Chiefs would try to answer back but JT Thomas reading Alex Smith all the way would bait him into a quick throw to Kelce that was picked off.

The Chiefs would be shut out for the 1st half. Giants blew an opportunity to score late in the 1st half but a bad read/throw by Eli would lead to a pick.

2nd half would start with Alex Smith trying to hit his trusty receiver Kelce again but Rookie Safety Landon Collins would make the pick that setup a Shane Vereen TD from Eli Manning.

Giants lead 14-0.

On the Chiefs next possession they would finally get on the board with Alex Smith going to Kelce again but this time he would break two tackles and turn a 15 yard catch into 80 yards.
The Chiefs would get the ball back and add another FG to bring the game to 4 points.

Well the Giants decided to put it away in the 4th with Eli connecting with Beckham for a 57 yard gain and Jennings would do the rest for another TD.

The Giants add one more score by Jennings who had a great day against the Cover 4 defense of the Chiefs to put the game out of reach.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME:

Rashad Jennings:

28 carries 142 yards 3 TD's

J.T. Thomas III

3 Tackles 1 TFL 1 INT to prevent a Chiefs score.

Good Game JFam

GMen continue to find ways to win....

The Giants hosted Coach JDubb and the Bengals. The Bengals are a high powered squad but for some reason have bee struggling this year.

The Giants coming off a month long bye were looking to get back on track.

The Giants offense struggled against the zone looks of the Bengals and couldn't get much going. The defense would keep them in it creating turnovers and giving Eli and Co more chances to put up some points. Eli would open up the scoring by hitting Ruben Randle against a Cover 12 (Cover 6) zone after the coverage broke down. Randle would take it 70 yards for the score.

The GMen defense would get a bit charged up seeing the offense finally doing work and DRC would jump an out route and take it to the house for the 59 yard return.

The Defense would pitch a shutout for 90% of the game forcing 4 turnovers. Not until scrub time in the 4th would the Bengals show some life. Calling timeouts to save time on the clock and mixing in looks to Eifert and the HB Draw would march down the field twice and score. For some reason they would go for 2 on their second TD. Thankfully they were 0-3 on onside kicks.

The Giants would add one more score in the 4th... easy win for the Gmen late surge by the Bengals would ruin the shutout and make it appear a bit closer than it was.

Players of the Game:

Eli Manning
11-14 238 Yard 2 TD's 158.3 QB Rating

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

3 Tackles 1 for loss, Pick 6 and held AJ Green to 2 catches for 13 yards

Good Game JDUBB

New York Giants win ugly at MetLife
The New York Giants finally played Coach BOnly and the Texans.

Well the Giants were rusty and it showed. Nothing to show for on offense and defense that let the dive toss combination kill them up the field were horrible. Thankfully the Texans couldn't throw the ball and found the Giants DB's enough times to help the Giants secure a victory with a late FG.

UGLY Game have to knock the rust off and get back in the groove.

It's been about a month since they last played and it showed.

Players of the Game:

Brandon Meriweather

11 tackles and made the game deciding INT on a 4th and 3 with the Texans driving.

Josh Brown

2 FG's only bright spot on offense.
